JINYA Ramen Bar
While this is a chain restaurant with locations scattered over the country, Houston has the highest concentration of locations (10) compared to everywhere else. We love ramen and were excited to try a new place! We went on a Friday evening and it was packed, but we were able to sit at the bar right away. Since the location we went to was in a shopping center, there was more than enough parking available. The interior was beautifully decorated with plenty of table seating for larger parties and two separate bars with seating as well. JINYA also does takeout if that’s more your vibe. I will say that the service was impeccable and the food came out super fast.
The Food
The menu isn’t overly large, but also isn’t short on options. There are quite a few vegetarian options for each meal course which is always appreciated. To start, we each ordered the vegetarian bao. They came out in minutes and were absolutely delightful, especially since they were bigger than we expected them to be. For entrees, I ordered the salmon tacos and my husband ordered the vegetarian spicy ramen. The tacos come out in wonton wrappers and they fall apart as soon as you take a bite, but I would order them again in a heartbeat. By the time my husband finished his ramen, he was sweating from the spice. He loves when “spicy” actually means spicy so he was more than satisfied with his meal and would order it again. We also ordered the garlic fried rice to share and, honestly, I could have made a complete meal out of that. Even when I was full I found myself sneaking little bites of that rice. We found the dessert menu slightly lacking with only three options, two of which were matcha forward, so we didn’t get dessert. Just not our thing.
Overall, we loved our experience at JINYA and will definitely be back. Let me know in the comments below if you’ve been to one of JINYA’s locations and what your thoughts were.
Until Next Time,
