4/5 Cinepolis

Since our previous go-to movie theater recently closed, we decided to try Cinepolis. There are multiple Cinepolis locations around the Houston area, but this review is strictly for The Woodlands location. They boast a luxury movie-going experience with full waiter service and full bar. The menu has a wide array of options from appetizers to popcorn to full entrees. While the vegetarian options are few, they are present and they were delicious. See the full menu here. The overall experience was good and we will definitely go back for future movies, but there are a few things that could use improving. Let’s break it down:

  • Pricing: We went on a Tuesday afternoon and the pricing was $7/person which we found very reasonable. I priced out the same movie on a Friday Evening and it was $14/adult and $12/child (12 and under). After pricing this out against a regular movie theater, they are about the same price, making this an even better deal. The food isn’t cheap, but it’s worth the money with the large portion sizes and the amazing flavors.

  • The Food: We ordered the Bavarian pretzel sticks, crispy pepper jack mac & cheese bites and a margherita burrata pizza to share and it was all amazing. The mac and cheese bites come with a ranch dipping sauce and are smothered in hot honey. The hot honey gives a little kick, but it’s not overly hot or spicy. The pretzels come with queso which is always a hit. The pretzels were soft and warm, perfection for me, but my husband said he wished there was more salt. As for the margherita pizza, it exceeded both of our expectations. We don’t usually go for thin crust, but it worked perfectly and the amounts of cheese and toppings was chef’s kiss. I would order each of these items again without hesitation, but I would go back just for the pizza.

  • Location: Cinepolis is located in a small strip mall in Creekside Park West. If the nearby shopping and restaurants don’t tickle your fancy, The Woodlands is a quick 15 minutes away. There is plenty of on-site parking as well.

  • Experience: The building is beautifully decorated and very clean. The theater we were in was very clean and the seats were in good condition. Each seat reclines and allows you to adjust your headrest as well. Ordering food can be done by pushing the call light on the front of your seat or through their app. We tried both ways and they were both easy. There is a copy of the menu on each seat table as well as the limited time promotional menu themed around a currently playing movie.

  • Things that could be improved: There is absolutely no lighting in the theater once the movie starts. While that’s great for watching the movie, it makes it very difficult to read the menu. Other movie-goers in the theater would turn their phone flashlights on and off to see the menu which was very distracting. Some dim, under table lighting would go a long way. Since ordering is done with the waiter or on your phone, there is almost constant phone lights and talking happening throughout the theater. Again, very distracting. If they could streamline the ordering process, it would make the experience even more luxury.

We would definitely recommend this location for a luxurious movie experience. Let me know if you’ve been to a Cinepolis location and what you thought!

Until next time,

Happy Watching
