5/5 Spanish Flowers
Spanish Flowers has three locations in Houston, including one on the North side in The Woodlands. This location is just outside The Woodlands mall across the street from Cheesecake Factory and Barnes & Noble which makes it a great date night location. Click here to check out what’s in the mall to help you curate an amazing date night. There is no direct parking lot for this location, but you can park outside of Dick’s Sporting Goods and walk straight to the door through an alley leading toward Barnes & Noble.
Once you get inside you are enveloped in luxury cantina vibes with a bar to the right and dining room to the left. There is also a patio through the bar area that you can request to sit in. You get free (bottomless) chips and salsa while perusing the menu, which is fairly extensive. The bar menu has many different cocktail and margarita options for any taste level or budget. If you’re looking for non-alcoholic options they also have soft drinks, Mexican cokes, lemonade and tea. The food menu has many different authentic Mexican and Tex-Mex options with multiple vegetarian options. Click here to see their full menu.
We ordered the queso without meat for an appetizer and we both highly recommend it. It comes in a large portion that can easily feed four people so we ended up taking some home. I had the cheese seafood enchiladas for my main and my husband got the veggie enchiladas. Each entree comes with your choice of beans and Spanish rice. The portions are perfect so even though we both joined the clean-plate club, we were absolutely stuffed and took dessert to go. We would absolutely order all of this again! We also highly recommend the Tres Leches cake for dessert because it is the perfect shareable size and so delicious. It’s not overly sweet or messy and it held perfectly in the fridge for a few hours until we were ready to eat it.
Other things I want to note are that the service was impeccable and the downtown Houston location is open 24 hours on Fridays and Saturdays. They specifically state on their website that they did that with healthcare workers and first responders in mind. I wish more businesses did this and would love if you could help support this small family-owned restaurant chain. Let me know if you’ve been to a Spanish Flowers location and what you thought!
Until next time,
Happy Dining
