Kura Revolving Sushi Bar

Kura is a sushi restaurant with a revolving bar, fun atmosphere and extensive menu. While it is a chain restaurant with locations all over the country, I still wanted to review it because we don’t have anything else in Houston quite like the experience you get at this restaurant. There are six locations in the greater Houston area with the latest location opening in The Woodlands. Check out their website (link below) to see their full list of locations by state.

Upon arriving, you’ll be seated at a table next to the two-level revolving bar. The lower level is constantly rotating with an array of different menu items. Each item is labelled with what it is and the options are constantly changing. If nothing on the lower bar tickles your taste buds, you can use the tablet at your table to order something specific off of the menu. Once you place the order it will arrive momentarily on the upper bar, directly to your table. After cleaning your plate, you deposit it in a slot under the revolving bar right at your table. The tablet will keep track of the number of plates you deposit to calculate your final tab at the end. You can also opt in to rewards where you get a free charm after 15 deposited plates and an additional reward after 25 plates. I can’t forget to mention that your drinks arrive on a robot that is super adorable. If you need assistance at any time, there is also a call button on the tablet that alerts the staff.

We ate so many things I did not keep an exact list for you, but I will tell you there was nothing that we did not like. We cleaned about 20 plates of sushi between us, not including some extra things that we ordered directly off the menu with plates that couldn’t be deposited. The menu includes everything from appetizers to desserts with a wide array of vegetarian options. Sushi not your thing? Don’t worry, they have other options too such as ramen, soup and American options. There is truly something for everyone. Overall, our experience was great. The restaurant is very clean, the service was friendly and the revolving bar was constantly restocked. The pricing is very fair and parking is not a concern. As for location, it is located in a parking lot with other shopping and restaurants making it a great place for a meal while shopping. I highly recommend you give this place a try!
