Lilac Scrub Caps Review
One of the big perks of being an operating room nurse is that I never have to do my hair for work since it just goes up in a hat. You can find so many cute caps online or you can make your own since they are pretty simple construction. However, as a migraine girlie, I’ve never really been able to wear any of the cute hats since anything wrapped around my head is an instant headache. I tried different styles and fabrics, but nothing worked so I ended up having to wear the ugly disposable caps provided by the hospital. Then I saw a Nurse Jen TikTok where she was talking about her new collaboration with Lilac Headbands to create comfortable and adorable scrub caps. I had to try them since I absolutely love Nurse Jen so I ordered two and anxiously awaited their arrival.
How it Started
It took a couple weeks to get them, but once I opened the package, I was in love. The fabric feels like butter and the patterns are beautiful and vividly colored. I immediately put one on and wore it around the house for the rest of the afternoon to see if my head would have an immediate reaction. After six hours, no headache. I didn’t even really notice I was wearing it the whole time, it feels like there’s nothing on my head. I wore one for my next 12 hour shift and was almost in complete disbelief when I got to the end of my day with no headache. Other things I noticed throughout that shift were that I never had to adjust it and I never had to shove any hair back in. It stayed in place for the whole shift and kept my hair out of sight. When I took it off at the end of the day, my hair didn’t even look like I’d been wearing a hat all day. A little fluffing and I was ready for a photoshoot. I immediately got online and ordered three more.
How It’s Going
I have been wearing these for over a month now and my experience hasn’t changed. I wash and dry them on delicate cycles and have experienced no fading or issues with seams or texture. They still feel like butter and didn’t shrink in any way. Since the fabric is also breathable, I have noticed a decrease in my itchy scalp since it can actually breathe through my shifts. I have also gotten a lot of compliments!
