Vegetarian Sausage Gravy
As a vegetarian, I usually stay away from gravies because most are not vegetarian friendly. That changed when my husband made me his biscuits and gravy recipe! It’s a white and creamy gravy with vegetarian sausage that we choose to smother biscuits with, but you could put this on whatever you want. This is a quick and easy recipe with only a few ingredients that can be made in minutes.
Ingredients
1 tube of Impossible sausage (either savory or spicy, depends on the flavor profile you are going for)
Olive Oil
¼ cup of Flour
1 cup of Milk
Pepper to taste
Instructions
Get out a saucepan and add the oil on medium heat. Add the sausage and cook until browned through.
Add the flour, mix well and cook for about a minute.
Now add the milk and pepper (if desired) and stir to combine everything.
Continue to cook on medium heat until it’s reduced to your desired consistency.
Spread over your desired gravy vessel and enjoy!
Notes:
If you don’t want sausage in the gravy, substitute the oil for butter. Add the butter to the saucepan and let it melt before adding the flour and then follow the rest of the recipe.
Freshly cracked black pepper is best for this recipe, but use what you have!
