5/5 Houston Broadway at the Hobby Center

Hear me out. I know Broadway shows aren’t for everyone, but they really are a lot of fun when you see the right show with the right people. We recently went to a show so I want to share my thoughts on why it’s worth your time. Please note I am not rating the specific show we saw, but the overall experience of going to a Broadway show at the Hobby Center.

Pricing 5/5

There is a range of seats that come with different pricing options so everyone can find something in their budget. I will say that we splurge a little to sit in the lower level when we go to a show, but we have also sat in the upper level and I can tell you there’s not a bad seat in the house. No matter how much you choose to spend, you’ll have a great time.

Level of Fun 5/5

I scored this a 5/5, but I want to make clear that we only go to shows we really want to see so our level of enjoyment is extremely high. If you were to choose a random show without knowing anything about it, your level of enjoyment may not be the same. I would encourage you to watch the broadway schedule and go to the shows you find interesting.

Location 5/5

The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts is located right off of I45 in downtown Houston. It is surrounded by hotels, restaurants, bars and countless other activities.

Other Mentionables

Parking is easy if you arrive the recommended hour before the show. There is a parking ramp directly behind the Hobby Center for $20 or valet parking for $30. Keep in mind that both of these options will have heavy traffic trying to leave the venue after the show so leave plenty of buffer time for any after-show plans. There is also a designated pick-up/drop-off zone if you are getting a ride to the venue. We have never used that option, but I imagine there is a wait for that post-show as well.

Each show that comes to the Hobby Center is usually there for at least a few weeks and has an extensive list of date and time options. We usually go on Tuesdays, but there are usually nightly showings which works for everyone’s schedules.

If you’re visiting Houston or you live here full time, Houston Broadway is an evening well spent and I hope you’ll check out a show!

Until next time,

Happy Singing
