5/5 Postino

It was my husband’s turn to pick a restaurant for date night this month and let me tell you, he delivered. Postino has locations all over Texas, including multiple locations in the Houston Area. We ventured into the Woodlands, TX location at Hugh’s Landing and had an amazing experience. Some locations have private dining spaces and there is also a catering option for off-site gatherings. For all of you misadventurers that enjoy a glass of wine during any occasion, there is a wine club with three different tiers available for you to take bottles home.

Customer Service 5/5 - our waitress was amazing! She asked about any food allergies before any food was brought out and my drink never reached the bottom of the glass. My husband ordered a drink from the bar that turned out to be no longer available - the bartender himself came over and helped my husband select a new drink order.

Food 5/5 - we ordered the mushroom cheese fondue and a bruschetta board for appetizers, both of which I highly recommend. The bruschetta board allows you to choose up to four different varieties of bruschetta off the menu, essentially making it a bruschetta flight. We ordered (and thoroughly enjoyed) the caprese, apple/fig/brie, mushroom/mascarpone and the sweet/sour with goat cheese. Each slice comes cut into fourths for easy sharing.

Ambiance 5/5 - my husband described the style as “posh dive bar” and that completely captures the vibes. It’s comfortable, it’s casual and overall a great experience.

Cleanliness 5/5 - I saw no cleanliness issues in this restaurant, but there is a window into the kitchen right in the dining area if you want to verify everything is in order.

Other Mentions - the location of this restaurant would be another 5/5 if I included that in my overall rating. With it being located in Hugh’s Landing, that means there are many other bars, restaurants and shops within walking distance which makes for a very romantic date night. Keep in mind that Hugh’s Landing is a very busy area of The Woodlands on the weekends, but more manageable on weeknights so your ease with parking will depend on when you go. There is a parking ramp we use that is directly behind Whole Foods or you can try your luck at street parking.

Overall, we loved this place and will definitely eat there again (and again). Go give it a try and tell me what you think below!

Until next time,

Happy Dining
