5/5 Rise Souffle

I searched “romantic dinner near me” and Rise came up first. After checking their site and menu, we decided to try it. They serve real French food, especially soufflés — my first. We dressed up and went to the Woodlands location (the only one near Houston; others are in Fort Worth and Dallas). If you’re near any of them, make this your next date-night spot. You won’t be disappointed.

Customer Service 5/5: We were seated right away and set apart from other guests, which I liked since it wasn't busy. Our waitress kept our drinks filled and answered all our questions as first-time visitors.

Food 5/5: Their menu is small but varied. Savory and sweet soufflés are available, plus other dishes if soufflés aren’t your thing. Prices seem fair for the portions and effort. A discounted three-course dinner is offered (what we ordered) — it’s plenty of food and lets you try several items. Seasonal soufflé flavors are listed on a chalkboard at the entrance.

Ambiance 5/5:This isn’t a small place, but the decor and lighting make it feel like a cozy French café. Everything was clean, the music was quiet, and every detail was carefully planned. Even the ceramic plates were decorated with “Rise,” and the soufflé plates had matte-glazed circles to keep the bowls from sliding.

Other notes:

Rise sits in a small strip mall with a huge parking lot, so parking is easy. A luxury cinema is at the other end, making it ideal for a dinner-and-movie date. We went Tuesday around 6pm and it wasn’t busy, though they recommend reservations on weekends. We left full and thrilled — it’s my new favorite restaurant. Check it out and tell me below if you agree.

Until next time,

Bon Manger
