5/5 MiMi Garden
This a new local spot in The Woodlands that advertises Chinese food with a modern twist. It’s tucked into the corner of a small shopping center with plenty of parking. Walking in, you are met with a clean dining room with eclectic vibes and an unobstructed view of the kitchen so you can watch the food being made from any seat. It was packed in there so I didn’t get any pictures of the dining room, but you can check out their website to see what it looks like. We were sat at a table immediately and the service was impeccable through the entire experience. Don’t want to dine-in? They offer delivery and take-out as well.
MiMi Garden’s menu is extensive with options ranging from steamed buns and dumplings to noodles and seafood. There are a lot of options for pescatarians, but fewer for vegetarians though they are present. Most vegetarians are accustomed to ordering a-la-carte from menus and this place is no different. That being said, here’s what we ordered (shared everything except the shrimp) and we left completely stuffed.
Green Onion Pancake - very good and a large portion of 8 slices - will order again
Vegetable Steamed Dumplings - we loved the green color and the filling was bursting with flavor - will order again
Vegetable Steamed Buns - large in size - also loved that these were green - loaded with filling - careful, very filling - will order again
Crispy Shrimp Balls with Melting Cheese - it is literally a ball of shrimp full of cheese in the middle, breaded and fried - absolutely delicious - will order again
Vegetable Fried Noodles with Eggs - similar to lo mien, but has spinach in it which was surprisingly good - very large portion - will order again
Also on the menu are a few dessert options and boba teas. My husband had the Taro boba tea and he really enjoyed it. I tried it and would say it almost tasted like a dessert than a drink, but I will definitely be ordering one of those next time. See their full menu here. Soy sauce, chili oil and vinegar are on each table and you are given both silverware and chopsticks to choose from. If you have little ones, they do have high chairs available.
MiMi Garden is located about five minutes from the Creekside Shopping Center and about ten minutes from Cinepolis, making this a great date night option. Overall, we loved this experience and will definitely be returning to this location. Let me know if you’ve tried MiMi Garden and what you thought.
Until Next Time,
Happy Eating
