Sheet Pan Grilled Cheese

I have always had a hard time not burning a grilled cheese on the stove so when I heard you can bake them instead, I absolutely had to try it. We have tried it multiple times over the last few months and, let me tell you, the sandwiches come out perfect every time. Baking your grilled cheese allows you to (mostly) set it and forget it, freeing you up for other tasks. It also allows you to bake a whole sheet pan’s worth of sandwiches instead of one or two at a time on the stove. I will not insult your intelligence by actually giving you step-by-step instructions for a grilled cheese sandwich so just assemble your sandwiches how you normally would and line them up on a baking tray.

Bake at 450 for 10 minutes - flipping halfway through

It’s literally that easy for perfect grilled cheese sandwiches in bulk. If you are looking to spice up your grilled cheese game, see below for some alternative grilled cheese combos that we have tried and found incredibly delicious.

Give Me Some Spice

These are some alternate grilled cheese recipes we have tried and highly recommend. I did not include amounts because these are your sandwiches, babe. Go with the amount of each ingredient that you are comfortable with.

  • Bacon/Jam/Gouda - we use Morningstar Farms Veggie Bacon Strips and a triple berry jam. Whether you use veggie bacon or real bacon, cook it fully before assembling your sandwiches. If you go with a different jam flavor, just make sure it’s something sweet. You need the sweetness to counteract the bacon and gouda savory flavors.

  • Honey/Peach/White Cheddar - this one is the best in the summer when peaches are in season, but you can obviously make it year round, no one will stop you. If you want a little heat, use hot honey instead of regular.

  • Bacon/Guacomole/Cheddar - again, whether you use veggie or real bacon please make sure to cook it through prior to assembling your sandwiches. For a little crunch, add some crumbled tortilla chips to your sandwich.

  • Jalapeno Popper - cooked bacon, cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese and jalapenos sliced lengthwise. This one is chef’s kiss.

  • Use garlic butter instead of regular butter on your bread and experiment with different cheeses. Adds a little pizazz, but nothing crazy.

Let me know if you try any of these alternative grilled cheese combos and what you think! If there are combos you have that I didn’t mention, please leave them in the comments below so we can all share ideas.

Until Next Time,

Happy Cooking
